About Hannibal Hendrix Jr.
Hannibal Hendrix Jr. is a Political Science student at Morehouse College focused on public policy, civic engagement, and community-centered advocacy.
Hendrix currently serves as AUC Liaison for Morehouse Adodi, the campus organization dedicated to mental health advocacy, following a year as Co-President. In that role, he helped lead sexual health initiatives in partnership with ViiV Healthcare, Positive Impact Health Centers, and NAESM, Inc., which also supported the organization’s ballroom events. He executed multiple annual ballroom events held at Morehouse’s International Martin Luther King Jr. Chapel and open to the public, and helped facilitate a queer book club sub-series for members. He also collaborated with fellow Adodi members on political protest and organizing efforts both on and off campus.
His commitment to queer advocacy extends beyond Morehouse: he has attended the National HBCU Queer Leaders’ Summit hosted by the Human Rights Campaign in Washington, D.C., connecting with advocates from HBCUs nationwide, and has participated in Out & Equal’s Out4Undergrad conferences in New York.
Hendrix’s professional experience spans nonprofit programming, public service, and operations. As an Operations Manager Intern at Moving in the Spirit, he supported youth and family dance programming and coordinated event logistics for community showcases and productions. He shared his personal story of growing up in a gentrifying Atlanta neighborhood with shareholders of the Zeist Foundation, illustrating the real-world impact of the organization’s philanthropic work. He also interned in the Fulton County Solicitor General’s Office through a Mayor’s Office youth program, gaining early exposure to government-community relations and public service.
Hendrix is passionate about LGBTQ+ advocacy, mental health, and policy work grounded in community impact, and continues to seek opportunities at the intersection of public service, culture, and social change.
